In a remote North Macedonian village, 15-year-old Ahmet dreams of becoming a DJ. The pressure from his conservative father and his duties as a shepherd weigh him down. But then he falls in love for the first time – the rebellious Aya is, however, promised to someone else. When Ahmet accidentally stumbles upon a secret night-time techno party in the forest (strobe effects!), the world becomes colourful – even a sheep glows pink. With charm, wit and warmth, the film nimbly explores the experience of coming of age. Director's Biography:Georgi M. Unkovski, born 1988 in New York City, grew up in North Macedonia. He studied directing in NYC and Prague. Today he lives in Skopje, North Macedonia. His award-winning short films have a visually dense style. DJ AHMET is his feature-film debut.
