Gilda knows that she does not have much longer to live. And one thing is clear to her: she wants to die in a self-determined way. She tries to do this several times, using a variety of methods. Unfortunately, she possesses a special talent that causes her attempts to fail in absurd ways every time. As a result, Gilda seeks support from professionals and ends up at “Joy Transition International”. In a training course, interested people learn how to die without pain. But even here everything turns out differently than Gilda has hoped. This film is a heart-warming, surreal tragicomedy, with plenty of black humour and a great soundtrack, that addresses the topic of euthanasia whilst simultaneously celebrating the adventure that is “life”.

Director's Biography:Paolo Marinou-Blanco, born 1972 in New York City, is a Portuguese/Greek screenwriter, director and producer. For his second feature film, DREAMING OF LIONS, he received the “Golden Tower” for Best Director at the Palić Festival in Serbia in July 2025.
