1913: Little Frida leads a carefree life with her family in Coyoacán, Mexico. However, when she suddenly falls ill with polio, the light-heartedness comes to an abrupt end. Confined to bed for weeks, the strong-willed girl flees into a vibrant fantasy world full of flowers, colours and pure magic. This lovingly crafted animated film recounts the childhood of one of the most important artists of the 20th century: Frida Kahlo.
