PVC, leather, huge quantities of flesh and, at the centre of it all: the Catholic Church. In this hilarious and absurd comedy, Father Iversen attempts to save the small parish community in the Swabian village of Winteringen from extinction. His idea, in order to convince the theatre-enthusiastic archbishop to keep the church open: a spectacular performance of the Passion of Christ! Behind his back, however, this degenerates into a blasphemous rave – with fat beats, sex toys and masses of pork. HOLY MEAT is bizarre, provocative and, at the same time, a triptych depicting loneliness, responsibility and the Catholic Church.

Director's Biography:Alison Kuhn is a German-Vietnamese director, author and actress. She studied directing at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. Her work has been honoured with numerous awards. HOLY MEAT is her first fictional feature film.
