Eghbal is out driving with his family at night and accidentally runs over a dog. The engine is thereby so badly damaged that it later suffers a breakdown. At a nearby garage, he meets Vahid, a former political prisoner. Vahid believes he recognises the squeaking of Eghbal’s prosthetic leg as that of his tormentor, who caused him severe kidney damage in prison. Vahid follows Eghbal to his house, kidnaps him and plans to take revenge. However, as he never saw his tormentor’s face at the time, he begins to have doubts. In order to attain certainty, he seeks advice from a former fellow prisoner... A thriller with a masterful art of narration!

Director's Biography:Jafar Panahi (born in Iran in 1960) is, as a film director and screenwriter, one of the most important representatives of the Iranian “New Wave”. Despite being banned from working and also imprisoned, he secretly produces films. Golden Palm 2025 in Cannes.
