In the small Kyrgyz village of Kök-Tash, amazing things are happening. The women of the village have dedicated themselves to football – not as spectators, but as players. Age and ability are irrelevant; the sheer joy of the game and team spirit are the main focus. In this remote village with its archaic way of life, this has the effect of a small revolution. During the day, we see the women in their diverse traditional roles and activities, whilst in the evening, they meet up to train for a planned football tournament. Men remain in the background. Through powerful images and masterly filming, we are able to witness the women discovering their strength and gaining self-esteem.

Director's Biography:Directors' biographies:Roser Corella, born in 1978, is an independent, award-winning documentary filmmaker from Berlin. Formerly a TV video journalist, she produces her films herself, thereby developing her personal perspective within the documentary field.Stefano Obino lives in Berlin. He worked for many years for international TV stations. In 2014, he switched from a journalistic approach to an artistic narrative style and has since then been creating his own award-winning projects.
