Luisa, a young woman in her early 20s, lives in a residential group for people with disabilities. She unexpectedly becomes pregnant. Suspicions of sexual abuse weigh heavily on Luisa, her infertile boyfriend and the staff at the residential facility. Luisa remains silent and the police are called in. The tension grows, while the truth remains shrouded in fog... The script is precisely researched, and events are based on real cases of abuse and dialogues from interviews with victims, carers and parents. The roles were cast with professional disabled actors and subsequently developed in a lengthy preparatory process. LUISA is the feature-film directorial debut of Julia Roesler from Göttingen.

Director's Biography:Julia Roesler is a freelance film and theatre director and a founding member of the artists’ collective werkgruppe2. Roesler teaches documentary-artistic work and has held teaching positions at the HBK Braunschweig, the University of Hildesheim and the Bundesakademie Wolfenbüttel.
