The successful orchestra conductor Julia and her partner Georg desperately want to have a child. They therefore approach a special fertility clinic that works with experimental methods. It works, and Julia becomes pregnant. The birth, however, does not go as planned and the newborn is immediately taken away for treatment. When they are finally able to hold their child in their arms, Georg is happy, but Julia experiences a strange sense of distance and is unable to connect with the child. She begins to doubt more and more that the baby is really hers, which increasingly alienates Georg and those around her. With a top-class cast, the film moves between drama and a quiet thriller with sci-fi elements.

Director's Biography:Johanna Moder is a director and writer and won the Audience Award at the Max Ophüls Film Festival in 2014 with her feature-film debut HIGH PERFORMANCE, followed by further awards for WAREN EINMAL REVOLUZZER. In addition, she has also realised a number of TV productions.
