Picture by ZadigFilms. No man is an island entirely of itself; every man is part of the main.” This sentence from the English poet John Donne is the inspiration for this documentation. This goes into the country regions of the Alpine region and South Italy, and impressively shows how new ways of thinking about industry and society are in the position to stimulate structurally weak areas in the long term. Starting point for the journey is a triptych from the 14th century in a Sienna palace where a historian explains the depicted context between citizens and the common good. Each of the participants in Dominique Marchais`s film is in some way a modern beneficiary of this idea, a pioneer of an alternative future.
