Sound on Screen goes Film Festival – for the 5th time! For eight years Sound on Screen, in cooperation with the Universum movie theatre and MusikCafé Riptide has presented a Music-movie highlight once per month, with an aftershow party or club concert. In this year we are also showing with SoS Festival Edition another selection of fresh and highly exciting music documentaries GURRUMUL takes us on a journey into the musical cosmos of the Aboriginal musician of the same name. We are also exploring a vast line-up of musical genres - for instance in the original Docu-Fiction THE MONKEY & THE MOUTH current Rap-music from Norway and in BLUE NOTE RECORDS: BEYOND THE NOTES the musical catalogue of the legendary Jazz label from Bebop to Soul Jazz to HipHop. The thrilling THE GO-BETWEENS: RIGHT HERE reminisces about the highly emotional story of the Australian Indie-Popband. The film programme is completed with an aftershow party of the concert STEFAN OLSDAL + DIGITAL 21 in the Riptide. from around the world. ROCKABUL for one shows how the Afghan Metal-Band District Unknown brings their music on stage under extreme circumstances and constant threat. MATAGI / MAYA / M.I.A. portrays the famous British musician and unadjusted political activist.
