The film takes its name from the Swedish capital, which in 1973 became the venue not only for a memorable crime, but also for a crime that has gone down in history. The petty criminal Lars robs a bank and then takes hostages. Cashier Bianca sees more than just an armed gangster in Lars, who, as a result of his actions, wants to force the release of a friend in prison. Bianca develops feelings that go beyond pure sympathy. But the situation is serious and it seems that a kidnapper is only taken seriously if he kills a  ostage. Action, thriller, comedy with Ethan Hawke, Noomi Rapace and Mark Strong. Star power at its best!

Director's Biography:Before STOCKHOLM Robert Budreau wrote, directed and produced among others the Chet Baker jazz film BORN TO BE BLUE (2015) with Ethan Hawke and Carmen Ejogo, the CSA nominated THAT BEAUTIFUL SOMEWHERE and the comedy BANKSTAS (aka CUBICLE WARRIORS).
