“Cleaver. Cleaver. Chop. Chop. First the mom and then the pop. Then we’ll get the pretty girl. We’ll get her right between the curl.” – This is the tagline of the most blatant contribution towards the psycho wave of the 1960s. Martin is treated like a toddler by his mum. He is constantly fighting with his stepfather. Then he meets Susan... “Gross, clumsy and ridiculously predictable” (The Guardian). Based on a screenplay by PEEPING TOM author Leo Marks, the film was released in West German cinemas in 1970 under the title TEUFELSKREIS Y, shortened by 14 minutes. The TWISTED NERVE main theme tune by PSYCHO composer Bernard Hermann became a worldwide hit in 2003 as a result of Quentin Tarantino’s KILL BILL: VOL. 1.
