Picture by Mattias Klum. Vamizi is a small island off the coast of Mozambique. For now this paradise for scuba divers is still intact, they call it the Great Barrier Reef of Mozambique. But it is likely that explorable natural gas and oil deposits, as well as the increase in tourism will endanger the still intact natural environment. Director Mattias Klum follows scientists who devote themselves to research but above all to the preservation of the reef and its diverse forms of life. They observe whales, fish, corals and other animals in their original living conditions. The film shows excellent underwater shots and presents the conflict between environmental protection and commercial development.
