Passes (5-pass, 10-pass, season ticket)

You can purchase our passes (5-visit passes, 10-visit passes, season passes) online and redeem them online for regular tickets to events on-site.

Please note that these do not apply to special events (opening, short film breakfast, awards ceremony, silent film concert, etc.).

5- and 10-visit passes and season passes (online and on-site):

1. 5- and 10-ticket passes and season passes can be redeemed for up to 5 or 10 tickets, respectively, or for all regular events (season pass), with a value of up to €11.01, as part of the 40th Braunschweig International Film Festival. 5- and 10-ticket passes can be redeemed either individually for different events or collectively for a single event. 5- and 10-ticket passes can also be redeemed for other events, such as children’s screenings (€6).

Season passes are non-transferable and cannot be used simultaneously for screenings in the same time slot. Holders of 5- and 10-ticket passes and season passes must have a seat ticket printed at the box office or redeem it online for the desired event.

2. 5-show, 10-show, and season passes are not valid for special events (opening night, concerts, short film breakfasts, etc.). The season pass is also valid for the awards ceremony (including the after-party).

3. Please note: A season pass is non-transferable. The season pass is personalized with the holder’s photo and name, as well as a “verification sticker” (“Security Seal”). Please bring a photo with you when purchasing the pass, or at the latest when attending your first event, so that the pass can be finalized at the counter at the Astor or the Universum (advance sales only). Admission will not be granted without a photo ID and the corresponding ticket for the event.

Even season pass holders need a ticket for each screening and must present their pass at the entrance.

4. If an event is canceled—e.g., due to a technical malfunction—for which a ticket has already been validated, a replacement in the form of a free ticket for the 40th Braunschweig International Film Festival will be provided. No cash refund will be issued.

5. 5- and 10-show passes are transferable. Season passes are not transferable.

6. Exchanges are not permitted.

7. No cash refund will be given for the value of any unused tickets.

8. Unused tickets will expire on November 16, 2026.

Purchase 5- and 10-visit passes in the web shop (online):

1) Go to https://tickets.filmfest-braunschweig.de/ and click “Tickets” (at the top of our homepage) to access our ticket shop.

2) Note: The tickets will be sent to you by email after you redeem the code. Please note: You must first purchase a pass—after receiving the redemption code in the confirmation email (link), you can then redeem it for tickets. The pass is not valid on its own. It must always be redeemed for the corresponding event tickets. Redemption can be done at ticket outlets or online. When redeeming online, you must enter the redemption code from the confirmation email for each ticket.

3) Next, select the desired pass/ticket under “Passes.”

4) For example, you can also purchase two 10-pack passes or one 5-pack pass and one 10-pack pass. The number of passes increases each time you click the respective button.

Purchasing a Season Ticket in the Ticket Shop (online):

1) A season pass is personalized. The season pass is issued with the holder’s photo and name, as well as a “verification sticker” (“Security Seal”). Please bring a photo with you at the time of purchase, or at the latest when you attend your first event, so that the pass can be finalized at the counter at the Astor or the Universum (advance sales only). Admission will not be granted without a photo ID and the corresponding ticket for the event.

2) Purchase a season pass through the Ticket Shop (see “Purchasing 5-Pack and 10-Pack Tickets in the Ticket Shop”).

3) After purchase, you will receive a confirmation email containing a link with your personal code—you can use this to book movies in the Ticket Shop immediately.

4) Select a movie in the Ticket Shop and enter your personal code in the “Redeem Code” field (after adding the movie to your cart). See Redeeming 5-Pack, 10-Pack, and Season Passes for Regular Tickets in the Ticket Shop.

5) Review and submit your order.

Alternatively, you can still purchase season passes in advance at the POP UP SPACE and at the festival counter at the Astor. Please bring a recent photo with you when purchasing in advance at the POP UP SPACE (Oct. 28 – Nov. 9, 26, see opening hours) or, starting November 10, 26, to the counter at the Astor. There, you’ll receive the standard badge with your photo and name printed on it (non-transferable).

Exchanging 5-pack, 10-pack, and season tickets for regular tickets in the web shop (online):

1) Go to www.filmfest-braunschweig.de, select an event under “Program,” and then click “Ticket” next to the desired date. Alternatively, you can go directly to our ticket shop.

2) You’ll now be redirected to the desired movie in our online shop. After selecting the ticket at the regular price, enter your ticket code under “Redeem Code”—which you’ll find under “Redeem Code” or next to the barcode on your 5-pack, 10-pack, or season pass ticket—and click “Redeem.” If you purchased your ticket online, you’ll find the ticket code in the PDF attached to the confirmation email.

3) Now specify how many tickets you’d like to purchase for the event and how many you’d like to apply to which voucher. Example: You’d like to book a movie using your 5-pack and also book a regular ticket for your companion: Select 1 regular-price ticket, then redeem the code as described in step 2, and then select another regular-price ticket.

4) You can now order your ticket as a guest or create an account for future orders. You’ll receive your tickets via email. You also have the option to download them to your phone as a mobile ticket.
