Chicago 1968: a married couple and their 15-year-old daughter are in the middle of life when the wife receives the diagnosis that she is pregnant. However, the expectant mother suffers from a disease that could kill her during childbirth. Abortions are forbidden - and a commission denies her request for a therapeutic abortion. All legal and socially accepted paths have thus been pursued unsuccessfully. In this hopeless, life-threatening situation, the wife meets a discreet organisation called "Jane". A true story about the struggle of individual women for their rights, self-determination and the social acceptance of their decisions.
