After her divorce, Alice has not seen her children for month. When her young son calls her in despair in the middle of the night, she spontaneously takes the initiative and kidnaps the children from her ex-husband’s house in Northern Sweden. Via charter flight, they arrive at a sunny holiday residence on the Canary Islands. In permanent fear of discovery, the desperate mother tries cautiously to regain the trust of her son and her 14-year old daughter …. A multifaceted, masterfully directed family drama full of surprise, suspenseful until the last minute, and supported by an outstanding cast. 

Director's Biography:Amanda Kernell, born 1986 in Umeå, Northern Sweden, attended the Film Academy in Copenhagen. Her feature film debut SAMI BLOOD was shown at the Braunschweig Film Festival in 2018. CHARTER premiered at the renowned Sundance Film Festival (competition section) in 2020.
