Sam, a 40-year-old people smuggler, finds himself in a moment of weakness when he rescues 12-year-old Amal, whose family has disappeared in the Syrian war. She believes that her parents are on their way to Sweden and wants to look for them, but first travels to Romania, where her sisters are staying in a shelter for refugees. Sam does not want to leave Amal behind alone and is therefore drawn into her venture.

Director's Biography:Film director and producer Abbe Hassan, born 1981, grew up in Älvsbyn, and studies film in Stockholm. In 2017 he directed the Seoul and Toronto award-winning short film GOLD and produced MÅSTE GITT, the most successful Swedish TV film of the year.
