At the end of the 19th century, the young Danish priest Lucas, full of verve and ideals, embarks on the arduous journey to a remote part of Iceland to build a church and photograph the people there. But the further he ventures into the foreign land full of unpredictable forces of nature, the more he faces unexpected challenges and moves further and further away from his actual goals... Shot in exhilarating images and a very unique style, this is a Nordic Western in which the mission of one man and the inaccessible grandiose nature of Iceland and its inhabitants clash mercilessly. One of the highlights of the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
