Koo Myung-hui is a politician and is on the verge of an important election. His son Yo-han gets involved in a fatal traffic accident and commits a hit and run accident. Myung-hui persuades him to confess to it. The victim's father asks questions and so triggers an unstoppable avalanche of events. Can Ryun-hwa solve the mystery? The film addresses the issues of political corruption, intellectual disability and illegal immigration in South Korea. IDOL is a dark, densely woven thriller with neo-noir elements that fascinates us with its poetic and frightening images. The plot is fast with numerous twists. Director's Biography:The director and screenplay writer was born in 1977 in Gimcheon, Gyeongsang-do, Republic of Korea. His debut film HAN GONG-JU is one of the most successful independent films of South Korea and was awarded multiple times.
