STRANGER IN MY OWN SKIN - the title for this intimate, almost poetic portrait of British punk singer and artist Peter Doherty could hardly be more fitting. The musician and director - and Doherty's wife - Katia DeVidas accompanied him with her camera for over ten years and gets very close to him. In conversations and live recordings, the documentary shows an outline of Doherty's life and his career with the Libertines and later the Babyshambles, including drug addiction and various crashes. The individual stages are reflected authentically and unadorned - right up to the (hopefully) final rehab.
