Since the Beginning of this year, screenwriters and actors in Hollywood have been on strike - with massive repercussion. Even though the systems are very different, the conditions in the German film and media industry are not exactly spotless, either. Lack of transparency, high stress levels and a lack of occupational health and safety not only have an impact on the working atmosphere, but are also fertile ground for the abuse of power. At the same time, a fairer work culture includes not only fair salaries and better working conditions, but also efforts towards diversity and inclusion. With different guests from the industry, we would like to discuss the status quo in the film landscape and raise the question: What can a fair, transparent and more equitable future look like?
