A film about a film that is shown at a film festival; shown at our film festival. Yes, exactly! Aspiring teacher Rebecca is invited to the Max Ophüls festival with her short film. Together with her crew - main characters Saskia and Ingo as well as cameraman Andi - she travels to Saarbrücken. Here, they pursue their own goals; after all, it's a good opportunity to get to know other filmmakers and advance their careers. Between new acquaintances, old loves and lots of festival atmosphere, they all have to decide what they want from life. SCHLUSSKLAPPE offers a witty and ironic look behind the scenes of the film industry. Feature film debut of the Göttingen filmmaker Niclas Mehne.

Director's Biography:Niclas Mehne (*1985 in Göttingen) studied directing at the University for Media and Communication in Cologne and completed the "One Year Filmmaking Program" at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. Since 2018 he has been studying in the Master's programme "Staging the Arts and Media" at the University of Hildesheim. SCHLUSSKLAPPE is his feature film debut.
