Words have the power to change things. "Journalism is the essence of democracy," says Meera, editor-in-chief of Khabar Lahariya, India's only newspaper run by Dalit women for many years. The "untouchables" are still below the caste system. With how much courage, perseverance and how against all odds of a dangerous daily editorial routine they pursue their investigative journalism takes our breath away. They report on rape, the mining mafia and take aim at the candidates in the national elections. Now they are about to move into the digital age. Director's Biography:The two filmmakers are married and work as independent documentary directors and producers. In 2009 they founded the production company Black Ticket Foundation. Their focus is on films with potential for social change.
