In this selection you can see different aspects of the series in a condensed form. POILUS narrates an episode from the trench war. In BLOOD BROTHERS a british deserteur meets a wounded German soldier in a barn. The filmessay ACCELERANDO shows footage from 1916 and 1935 and connects it with the text “Europas optische Täuschung” (1909) by the british pacifist Norman Angell and thus opening room for resonance in the present. MALIK tells the story of the publishing house Malik, which was specialized in avant garde art and communist literature. This publishing house, founded by the brothers John Heartfield and Wieland Herzfelde, quickly became the voice of the Berlin dadaism.
