The clumsy teenager Adam is fed up with his home life and spends his summer with his sister Casey in New York. His dream, to meet girls and to gain some new experiences, comes true in a different manner: Casey, active in the young New Yorker LGBTQI*-scene, takes him to queer parties and protests. This is where Adam meets and falls in love with Gillian. Gillian assumes Adam to be trans – and he goes along with it. A coming-of-age story after the novel by Ariel Schrag about the search for identity, one's own place in the world and the complexity of one's sexuality.

Director's Biography:Filmmaker and artist. Known among other things for the transgender-series TRANSPARENTS. His works have been awarded at numerous international festivals. 2015 he received the ACLU Liberty Award for his way of representing transgender in the media.
