Sam Dalmas witnesses a gruesome and mysterious crime. In his attempt to solve it, he soon finds himself caught up in a web of fear, suspicion and deadly secrets. THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE is the debut work of the legendary Dario Argento, also known as the Master of the Giallo, the Italian thriller subgenre that focuses on brutal murders and their investigation in films such as DEEP RED. This early film features motifs that would become classic in his later works, such as the eerie fear of what is to come. The film plays masterfully with the unknown and is uniquely enhanced by Ennio Morricone’s brilliant score.
