“At Midnight” is back from its pandemic break. Because genre cinema belongs on the big screen. On five late evenings at Universum Filmtheater we celebrate five extraordinary Braunschweig premieres. All films are from the programme of Drop-Out Cinema eG. Germany's first cooperatively organised film distributor looks after cinema that falls through the cracks of commercial distributors - horror, fantasy, psychotronics and cinematic obscurities. For Drop-Out board member Jörg van Bebber, cinema is a collective rite: "It involves relinquishing control and surrendering oneself to the film images." We agree and look forward to off-kilter, intoxicating at-midnight experiences.
