This film is only superficially a touching documentary with beautiful pictures about a generation-spanning group of farmers and drop-outs who cultivate vegetables in the province of the French southwest according to local traditional custom: Forestry logging horses, oxen pulling ploughs, ecological manual labour without pesticides and marketing at regional bio markets. Seemingly eccentric and idealistic, it demonstrates, however, that quality of life has many facets. Old skills and knowledge must be preserved and show how modern organic farming can succeed. The global community cannot be fed only by these technologies, but it is an exemplary contribution.

Director's Biography:Arlot and Rabin are a young French director and production duo, who made it their business to produce documentaries about the contemporary extraordinary. FRESH DRAUGHT is their first joint feature film production.
