Green Horizons

What began in 2015 as a test balloon became a great success with the audience in 2016. In its third year too, this film series transports facets of the topic of sustainability into impressive images and stirring stories which can perhaps act as a bone of contention for changes, or at least for rewarding discussions. Particularly gratifying this year was the sheer abundance of qualitatively high-class submissions on the theme, which would in fact have been sufficient for two festivals and confronted us with a difficult final choice. This year we are examining social aspects of sustainability with documentations on the absolute basic incom (FREE LUNCH SOCIETY) and on the rescue of refugees from the Mediterranean (ASTRAL), climactic aspects with contributions on the problems of drought in Kenya (THANK YOU FOR THE RAIN) and on the drying out of the Aral Sea (SEA TOMORROW) as well as on the protection of flora and fauna with a documentary film on the preservation of old seed (SEED: THE UNTOLD STORY). Green Horizons is supported by AGIMUS GmbH, ALBA Braunschweig GmbH, Perschmann Hoffmann Group and Hoffmann Maschinen- und Apparatebau GmbH.
