Estonia, 19th century: werewolfs, ghosts and the Black Death are striking the rural population. The farmers will do anything to get through the oncoming winter. The heathen customs of the ancestors encounter the Christian rituals of the German upper class. Against this background, a strange love triangle unfolds with the village girl Liina, the farmer`s son Hans and the daughter of the Baron. Whose love will be returned? Rainer Sarnet has produced a dark fairy tale for adults, in contrastive black and white images, based loosely on Andrus Kavirähk`s successful novel ”Rehepapp uhk November”.
