The north of Argentina, 2016: about 700 Mennonites of German extraction live in an area cut off from the surrounding region. They came 18 years ago from Mexico and hoped to be able to live a life without progress: without cars, without electricity, telephones or radios; they lead a life as in the 18th century. This religious community cultivates fields and livestock farming; they speak an old form of Low German and live a pious life for God. The documentary film observes the life of a gentle society between isolation and change and questions whether the children also want to follow this path and whether one can completely deny further societal development.
