Sound on Screen goes Film Festival – for the 4th time! For seven years, Sound on Screen - in cooperation with the Universum-Cinema and the MusicCafé Riptide - has been presenting a music film highlight with an after show party or club concert once a month. What’s more, since 2014 we have been able to look forward to the SoS festival edition at the Braunschweig Film Festival. This year too, we are again on the starting grid with brand-new music documentaries of diverse music styles: from jazz & soul, indie rock, rap and electronic music right up to current sub- and club culture – selected from over 60 new music films worldwide. The line-up includes star portraits of the worldwide celebrated jazz and soul singer Gregory Porter (DON’T FROGET YOUR MUSIC) as well as with PLACEBO: ALT RUSSIA about alternative rock heroes. Star director Michael Winterbottom goes with ON THE ROAD on tour with Wolf Alice, the hip indie band from London. A LIFE IN WAVES introduces electronic pioneer Suzanne Ciani, and WHEN GOD SLEEPS is the enthralling documentary about the Iranian rapper Shahin Najafi who has been issued with a fatwa of death. DJ icon Lefto from Belgium leads us into the underground scene of L.A., London and Seoul. We wish you a lot of fun!
