Dairy farmer Inga lives with her husband in a remote village in Iceland which suffers from the migration of the young population to the metropolitan region of Reykjavík. A lifeline seems to be the local farmers' cooperative – it runs the local supermarket, guarantees milk purchase prices, gives support with loans and supplies the farmers with cattle feed, fertiliser and the like. After the death of her husband, however, she increasingly feels the oppressive embrace of the cooperative and declares war on the Mafia-like organisation. An alternately exciting and humorous feature film with an outstanding leading actress and excellent camera work.

Director's Biography:The director and screenwriter, born in 1977, completed his studies at the Film Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 2004. Already with his second feture film he won the Prix Un certain regard in Cannes.
