At BIFF, The Penelopes will be playing live to an unusal silent movie that has just been freshly restored and reconstructed. This film is the first known film in which woman and man change roles and which is dedicated to gender issues in this way: after a suicide attempt by her husband, the woman suddenly has to earn a living and the man has to take care of the child. Life then becomes better for both of them.
The Penelopes is made up of Axel Basquiat and Vincent T. The two Parisians, who now live in London, work as a DJ Team, compose for film and remixed among others Lana Del Rey, The Cure, Pet Shop Boys. Their sound is a positive mixture of dream pop, electro and disco.
