As in 2019, the BIFF is once again presenting a film by Braunschweig-born director and international actor Detlef Bothe. His latest film revolves around a scintillating "amour fou" with tragic consequences. The story of Alicia and Yann, who would have been better off if they had never met: A female narcissist with psychopathic tendencies meets a male with an addictive nature who becomes her sexual co-dependent and cannot break away, even though the relationship deeply impacts him and destroys his life. Their psychological chasms open up without any filters whatsoever, and their fights come to a head, whereupon both of them gradually descend into depression.
