Sergey is new at the boarding school for the hearing-impaired. He quickly comes into contact with the organised gang "The Tribe", where violence and harassment determine life. By necessity, Sergey has to assert himself, and through theft, robbery and pimping he secures his rank within the hierarchy. When he falls in love with Anna, Sergey breaks the code of the tribe and is suddenly on his own.

The film gets by without spoken dialogue and music, and has the effect of a modern silent film with its very own dynamic. In 2014, the debut film THE TRIBE triggered storms of enthusiasm in Cannes. Numerous international festival participations and over 30 awards followed.
