40th Braunschweig International Film Festival | Full-time (40 hours/week)
Would you like to see how one of Northern Germany’s largest film festivals works behind the scenes? Are you interested in events, (film) cultural events, organization, and international guests, and would you like to gain practical experience that goes far beyond the classroom? Then join our team!
From November 9–15, 2026 the 40th Braunschweig International Film Festival (BIFF) will take place. With more than 25,000 attendees, around 250 film screenings, and approximately 250 international guests from the film and media industries, BIFF is one of the most significant public film festivals in Northern Germany. In addition to showcasing new European cinema, the festival places a special focus on promoting emerging talent.
For festival preparation and execution, we are looking for a dedicated student for a paid mandatory internship in the area of event and guest management.
What to expect:
With us, you’re not just a spectator—you’re an active part of the festival. You’ll gain exciting insights into the organization and execution of a major cultural event and work directly on a wide variety of festival formats—from initial planning to successful execution.

- The festival’s press conference
- The preview, an exclusive event for our partners, sponsors, and supporters
- The opening film concert LA LA LAND IN CONCERT
- The awards ceremony
- Numerous other festival events and receptions
You’ll get to know various event venues, work with service providers, technicians, and event professionals, and gain valuable hands-on experience in event and cultural management.
Your responsibilities:
- Assisting with festival organization and guest management
- Assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of festival events
- Assisting with invitation management and ticketing
- Assisting with festival logistics
- Researching and organizing travel and accommodations for our international festival guests
- Coordinating festival shuttles and other transportation options
- Assistance with accreditations and guest receptions
- Maintaining and managing data in the “Eventival” festival software
What you bring to the table:
- A currently enrolled student looking for a required internship
- Ideally, you are studying event, cultural, media, or tourism management, or a related field
- Excellent organizational skills and a structured, meticulous approach to work
- Enjoy working in a team and have strong communication skills
- Interest in film, culture, and event organization
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Good to very good written and spoken English skills
- A Class B driver’s license and driving experience are a plus
