A quasi-western with Adorf as a touchingly clumsy unlucky fellow. After a successful bank robbery, the bandits Sunshine and Kid flee to the extinct desert hick town Deadlock, where only the former gold prospector Charles Dump lives with his daughter Jessy. Dump tries to get the bandits' loot, but fails to kill them. A cult film with the psychedelic soundtrack of Can: "DEADLOCK is a cinema endgame because he skins the cinema to the bone. Because it doesn't contain anything superfluous, which is a feature of Roland Klick's films at all." (Peter W. Jansen)

Director's Biography:Roland Klick's work as director and script writer has been awarded the Federal Film Award several times, among others for SUPERMARKT, DEADLOCK or LUDWIG. In 2017 he was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Federal Association of Directors.Photo: © Filmgalerie 451
