A dinner among friends – but when Thomas announces that his son will be called Adolf, the food gets stuck in everyone's throat. Egos clash, the evening escalates, sins and secrets are divulged. The remake of a French film strikes a fine balance between social criticism and humour, clever plot turns and perceptive dialogues. Zerlett serves up three types of music in this order: 1. Italian- inspired chansons that introduce the characters. 2. Main course from the turntable – club jazz with vocals. 3. Classical orchestral score. Zerlett was able to start so early that the film was cut according to his music – which endows it with a high coherence of image and music.

Director's Biography:After studying film directing at the HFF Munich, Wortmann shot Allein unter Frauen (Alone amongst Women), which attracted one million visitors to the cinemas. Since then he has stood for great entertainment cinema of the intelligent kind - and some of the greatest German successes with the audiences.
