DIE SAAT is dedicated to the pressure to perform and asks the question how much the human soul can take until it breaks. The main characters are Rainer (Hanno Koffler) and his daughter Doreen (Dora Zygouri). Suddenly transferred to the countryside, Doreen tries to rediscover her identity and increasingly gets into trouble under the influence of the spoilt neighbour's daughter. Rainer tries to give his all in his job as construction manager, but is in danger of failing due to the demands of the investors. "It was interesting for me to see what pressure does to families. Does the concept of 'family' still fit into a performance-oriented society at all?" says Mia Meyer about the idea for the film.

Dora Zygouri is nominated for the Braunschweig Film Award for her portrayal of Doreen.

Director's Biography:Mia Meyer was born in Braunschweig in 1981. After studying film and screenwriting in New York and London, Meyer initially worked in the field of documentary film. She wrote the screenplay for DIE SAAT together with her partner Hanno Koffler.
