Who was Otto Engelhardt? Engineer, diplomat, pacifist and one of Sevilla’s most important, but almost forgotten personalities of the 20th century. DISCOVERING OTTO tells the story of this unique human who immigrated to Spain where his world view changed. His experiences within the First World War made him a pacifist and a strong opponent of the Nazi regime and all that started in Braunschweig’s Neue Straße 23, where Engelhardt grew up as the son of court mirror manufacturer. A film about a Baunschweiger who needs to be remembered and rediscovered, especially in times when the right wing is on the rise again.
